Kindness is one of the clearest ways we reflect the love of Christ to others. Kindness shines like a light in the darkness in a world that often feels cold, distant, and rushed.
“And the fruit of the Spirit is…kindness…” ~Galatians 5:22 WEB
Kindness overflows from a heart of love. It requires humility and a willingness to serve others.
“So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of…kindness…” ~Colossians 3:12 NASB
Paul encourages Believers to clothe themselves with kindness. Just as we intentionally dress ourselves each day, we are to intentionally clothe ourselves with the spiritual robe of kindness. When we walk in kindness, we reflect the Father heart of God and create room for the Spirit to touch others through us.
Jesus demonstrated kindness perfectly. He fed the hungry, healed the sick, comforted the brokenhearted, forgave sinners, and welcomed the outcast. Jesus modeled compassion and kindness everywhere He went.
We can follow Jesus’s example. Our act of kindness can be a word of encouragement, a small act of service, a listening ear, a patient response in a tense moment, a thoughtful gift to meet a need, or remembering someone’s special day.
Kindness is the act of giving of ourselves, whether it costs time, money, energy, or all three. We can show kindness to our family, neighbors, coworkers, the needy, and service industry workers.
Prayer
Lord, thank you for showing kindness and setting an example for us. Today, we choose to clothe ourselves with Your robe of kindness. Fill us afresh with Your Holy Spirit so that we might love others through thoughtful words and acts of kindness. Amen.

How will you express kindness to someone today?
Lisa, I love this quote, "We can follow Jesus’s example. Our act of kindness can be a word of encouragement, a small act of service, a listening ear, a patient response in a tense moment, a thoughtful gift to meet a need, or remembering someone’s special day." What a wonderful challenge to start the day! Many blessings to you.
I love this: kindness causes us to "reflect the Father heart of God and create room for the Spirit to touch others through us." For the deserving and undeserving of our kindness, too! Amen to your prayer that today we may reflect God in us through our kindness!
