This is so good Lisa. I have social media FB IG & X but I'm not a fan and use them minimally. Social media is distracting and I'd rather keep my eyes on Jesus and other important things and people in my life.
Thanks so much for sharing with Sweet Tea & Friends this month sweet friend.
Media is a blessing in that we get to share our writings, connect with other writers, and encourage each other in our faith. However, the media is a challenge in that it can be a distraction, a time stealer, or carry errors/misinformation. May the Lord give us discernment in our use of media.
Social media has always been a challenge for me. I recently closed my IG account, even though I have not used it to post anything ever. This is truth >>> "In today’s media climate, let us be people who pause, discern, pray, ponder, and respond."
IG has become an interesting social media platform, Joanne. I haven’t posted there in quite a while, and I have been pondering whether to shut it down completely.
UGH, Lisa, social media can be so polarizing, most people I talk to are oversensitive to anything you might bring to the table about it except that it's wonderful. My skeptical self is wary of it, and I keep my interactions kind and few.
It does seem that we humans have a talent for turning "every good and perfect gift" into an idol. SM is just one more example of us worshiping at the wrong altar.
That is a good way to articulate social media, Michele. It is a great tool for spreading the Gospel, interacting with friends, etc., but it can be used to pollute the clear waters, and distract us from really doing good in this world.

Positive interactions are desperately needed, Donna, and remaining silent during polarizing conversations is wisdom.
