Vision is all about perspective. We can have a strong, healthy perspective or a weak, skewed perspective. Our vision can be shaped by His Word or by our culture.
King Solomon wisely spoke of perspective in relation to times and seasons.
For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to seek, and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate;
A time for war, and a time for peace.
~Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 WEB
In this light, let us choose to wait upon the Lord for a strong and healthy perspective.
But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power; they will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not grow tired. ~Isaiah 40:31 AMP
For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay. ~Habakkuk 2:3 NASB
Let us trust the Lord to lead us.
The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack. ~Psalm 23 AMPC
For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. ~Jeremiah 29:11 NASB
In reflection, let us refuse a weak or skewed perspective that leads to captivity and bondage.
See to it that no one carries you off as spoil or makes you yourselves captive by his so-called philosophy and intellectualism and vain deceit (idle fancies and plain nonsense), following human tradition (men’s ideas of the material rather that the spiritual world), just crude notions following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of the universe and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah). ~Colossians 2:8 AMPC

With our noisy world, I can slip into being worldly influenced when I take in more from our culture rather than from His word. Thank you for your perspective, Lisa, that points us to what is truly truth!
